Movie love.

I thought it'd be neat to share with you a list made up of movies that Sofia and I love. Kind of like our own "Roger and Ebert" movie reviews. LOL If you have a child that is the same age as Sofia (3) then maybe this will be handy for ya. *hehe* We love to watch movies. On the weekend, we watch movies together. We always pick a family movie when Sofia's up with us and once she goes to bed, we watch something Joe & I both have been wanting to watch. We love all kinds of movies really.

Here's the list of movies that Sofia and I both love. Maybe you have or haven't seen it. Let me know what you thought of any of these movies too in the comments.

1. My Neighbor Totoro : is a 1988 Japanese anime film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. The film follows the two young daughters of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan. - I watched this movie before Sofia was born and I absolutely fell in LOVE with it. It's adorable. I watched it online and then later got it for Sofia but was disappointed the second time because I noticed they had different voices on the DVD. After doing some research online, turns out, Disney remade the movie in 2004 and hired a whole new cast of voices for it. That's the version I got. My opinion on that? STOOOOOPID! The original voices were SO much better! So I did some hunting and managed to get my hands on the ORIGINAL English dub. SO much better! Sofia loves this movie so much! She giggles through it. So cute... One thing I will say though is that she does cover her ears on some of the scenes where "Totoro" comes out and talks (a few) and in a scene where what I like to call "black dust bunnies" come out. Those are the only scenes she gets a little eeked about. But she's fine. She'll just cover ears and yells "Look mom! The dust bunnies!" LOL I love Anime movies! So obviously I'm introducing that to her. *hehe* Not everyone digs it though. Here's a movie trailer:

2. The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000) : To protect her from a sea witch, Ariel's daughter is not allowed in the ocean; but when she becomes 12, she runs away to an adventure under the sea. - Sofia has watched the original "The Little Mermaid" and while she loves that, I think this is her favorite over the other one. Maybe because it has the little girl in it in this one? Ariel's daughter - Melody. She thinks "Sebastian" is a hoot in this one. Specially in a scene where he runs into the "cook" from the original movie who was trying to cook him, remember? They have a funny cake scene and she thinks that part is soooo funny. She really gets into it. She'll start playing parts. Hilarious! And I have to admit, this one is better than the other "Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning" Personal opinion though, that's all.

and....

3: Caillou's Holiday's Movie (2003) : Caillou learns about winter holiday traditions from around the world. He and his entire family celebrate Christmas, sharing, giving and caring. - One of Sofia's favorites. Sofia loves LOVES LOVES Caillou cartoons. I think it's because they cover so many real topics that children face every day. I personally love it too. Last year Sofia didn't care for Christmas too much. She was still too little though. This year, it's a whole different story. Her eyes get sooooooo big and fill with excitement when we go to the store and she sees the Christmas trees put up for decoration. She yells "Mom, Santa's coming! Santa's coming! I want to see him!" lol Yay, finally someone I can share my excitement with! LOL They have a lot of previews of the movie on You Tube:

And that's all for now. I'll share some more next week. =)
