So yeah, my Digital SLR is gone. It bites! I don't know how long it'll take me to get over that. I'm sure I'll keep bringing that up forever, so bear with me, ok? I'm having BAD withdrawals... so I thought, "Well... I do have a camera." The only thing is, it's a film camera. That means I have to buy film for it and develop it. Also, I only have the kit lenses that came with it when we bought it which are pretty much... CRAP. They are not the best but hey, at least I still can take pictures, right? I found out that the printing lab I order my digital pictures through also lets you send in film to get developed. So... awww yeah! Perfect! I went to the store today and bought some film. I have 3 film cameras. One we bought a LONG LONG time ago and the other two I found at the thrift store. Never used them before so I don't know how well the pictures will come out. Worth trying though. Kinda exciting not being able to preview them on an LCD screen like modern cameras let you. It's like a big surprise when you get those prints in your hands! I miss that. I'll see if my lab offers to scan them too so I can post them online. If not, I'll scan them myself.
Today I accomplished a few things. Cleaned up and did laundry. I also finally booked a dental appointment for Sofia. Her first ever. She's 3. We'll see how that goes! I'm nervous for her. LOL Also made an optometrist appointment because she had an eye exam at her 3rd year check up on Monday but she refused to read the last 2 lines. I honestly think she was just fed up with the test and wasn't cooperating towards the end but hey... better safe than sorry. What if she needs to wear glasses? LOL How cute!
Right now I'm not feeling so great. I am feeling some shortness of breath and it's so frustrating! What the heck is wrong with me???
Sofia's catching a cold also. She's got the runny nose, red watery eyes... I wonder if it's due to the Flu Spray she got on Monday? I swear... stupid flu shots! I hate to see her sick! =( Crossing my fingers that I don't catch it either! When you're a Mommy, you can't afford to get sick. Am I right Mommies?
You are so right! It is hard to care for a little one when all you feel like doing is lying in bed.
ReplyDeleteI am so frustrated for you about your camera?!! All your lense are gone too?? Have you come close to know who could have taken it?? I hope you do find out but I am not sure that would get your camera back at this point. :(
Thank you Connie. I only had purchased one good lens. The 50mm 1.4 and to make matters worse, it's the lens I had mounted on my camera at the time. It never came off since it was the only good quality lens I had. Sucks, huh?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see some pictures with your film camera! I've been super lazy about taking pictures. I don't seem to have the time to really commit to photography right now so I end up using my cameraphone. :(
ReplyDeleteI take my film to Walgreens. The charge around $5.00 to develop and scan the film. I don't usually order prints unless I need one for something specific. It is way cheaper to get the scan. You can always go back and order prints of the ones you like for like $.10 each.
I'm excited to get them developed too! I took pictures with both the film cameras I bought at the thrift store. Both Canons. I really want to buy a Pentax film camera though. I've seen pictures taken with them and they are AWESOME. Great quality.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask you how you did it with your film cameras. Since I know you got more experience with that in that dept. I am going to give my printing lab a try. I request all the materials from them, they send them to me for free, and then I send in my rolls and I can order prints, or just scan them on CD. Or print individual ones as well... I love their quality so far (from the digital pics I order through them) so we'll see how the film ones come out. I'll let you know! I haven't gotten film developed in YEARS! haha
Oh and their prices are not as cheap as Walgreens. That's a good price! But yeah, we'll see how they come out and if it's worth paying a little more. Maybe I should develop one at Walgreens and one at my printing lab to compare. Keep ya posted!
