Thrift Store Geek!

I have a confession. I'm addicted to Thrift Stores. I go at least once a week. I've found so much stuff, you can't even imagine. I do have a rule of thumb though. Don't buy anything that's just going to end up in the garage or closet. And I stick to it. I've bought stuff for the kitchen. Glasses, pots, pans... I buy a lot of toys and books for Sofia. And clothing too. I have found Old Navy clothes all the time. All in excellent condition. Kids grow so fast at this stage, I don't feel bad buying her clothes from the thrift store. I do a pretty good job though. People always compliment Sofia on her clothes and ask where I got it. I'm always like, "Thrift Store." And they are in shock. LOL I found this beautiful sheer, flowery dress for her. Brand new. With the tag. It's my favorite. She wore it to church last weekend and she was the hit of the day. LOL Everyone complimented her on it. Told her how beautiful her dress was and how pretty she looked. *hehe* Makes me proud. I also like to buy vintage stuff. I have found toys from the 80's. Which make me go, "eeek! I had one of those!" I actually saw a "My Little Pony" from the 80's today at one of the stores I went to but it was in bad condition so I didn't buy it. haha The little care bear in this picture is one I've found there. I have found another pink one actually, just as cute. AND I've found one of the original stuffed care bears. It's so cute and bright! I think I appreciate them more than Sofia right now. haha But yeah... I'll have to take more pictures and show you the good stuff I've found. Today I found one similar to this for Sofia. Same brand and table but it's about food. It's cute. Got it for 4.50. Great Shape. She loves it. Have you ever been to a thrift store? Do you ever shop there? If you don't, what is it about thrift store shopping that you don't like? Just curious.

  1. Thrift stores are the best. Most of my son's toys are from the consignment store. My FIL calls my son's play area "Peyton's Disneyland!" I have SO many toys! I also buy some of his clothes there. I really don't have a chance to buy too many clothes because his grandparents love to dress him, but when I see something cute I buy it. There is this one second hand store here call Children's Orchid. It has the most wonderful used clothes there, especially for little girls. You would be in heaven if you had that store nearby.

  3. I loved looking in the Thrift Stores in WA. They had allot of old stuff. I never bought the girls clothes because I had GF with girls and we would all pass the clothes around. And of coarse Sophia gets Moniques hand me downs. Overseas I was a big donator to the thrift store on base. In Germany we would go junking. If you had stuff, anything broke or not you could put it outside your house on certian days of the month. People would drive around and just take it. Now that rocked! lol

  4. I love Care Bears!! LoL!! Sounds like you find the best deals at the thrift store. You know, I've never been to a TS. No reason, really... but after reading all of the great finds you've gotten your hands on it makes me want to check out my local TS!! Honestly, it's never been a thing about name brands to me. If something looks nice, that's all that matters.
