Oh no! I hope I don't regret this!

Remember all that talk about the d80 and d90 and blah blah blah? Yeah, cause I ranted about it SO much, it just became BLAH BLAH BLAH. But the day before yesterday I decided to purchase this:
Canon 40d

I feel like a bit of a traitor and stuff but I have my reasons. It'd be a waste of time to try to explain. And who do I have to explain to anyway? LOL It doesn't matter. I'll have to get used to the body and it's *ahem* wonderful menu... but I was used to it with Xti. And I still have the BIGGEST love for Nikon. I do. Anyway, my new baby will be arriving on Tuesday. BIG change again for me but I love change, so it's ok. I'm know I'll be happy with it. I know, I bet you think I'm crazy but I still love you... haha

ps. I literally bit my nails off when I ordered this. I just hope that I didn't make a big mistake... ahhh! LOL I just did some research and d90 vs. 40d ..? 40d won IMO. Ah well... =)
I'm off this thing. Sofia's finished with lunch and we're headed to the Base Exchange to pick up a prize I won. I joined a lipstick contest at the Lancome counter last weekend and I got a call earlier notifying me that apparently my lips WON! LOL More details later! I am going to ask back for the piece of paper I left my lips on. To show 'em to ya. *hehe*

Toodles!

  5. Good for you in the end you'll get what you like more. My mother has an Canon and when she uses my Nikon she wishes she would have listened to me and purchased a Nikon. Each camera has good features however if you're not doing professional work i don't think it really matters what people get.

  6. Char: Yeah. If I was doing professional work, I wouldn't be buying this. I don't scratch off the possibility of going back to Nikon in the future, As a matter of fact if I end up not liking this, I'm returning it.

  7. Don't get me wrong Canons are great cameras the only thing that sold me when I went comparison shopping was the clarity of the lenses and the near silent shutter. I can't wait to see the pictures, either way :)

  8. Char: Ahhh! Don't say that! You make me have buyer's remorse! LOL Like for real, last night I was already looking up the return policies on Amazon and already deciding that I'd just buy the d90 instead! LOL I just know I'm going to miss the Nikon bodies. When I went to walmart the other day, I picked up the Xsi body to look at the menu and the grip and stuff and it was so awkward. I was like, "oh GAWD, I hope the 40d doesn't feel this way..." *sigh* Oh well... I'm crazy so don't be surprised if I send it back. hahaha It'd be a pain in the butt though because they take forever to give you your refund. Ok. I'll stop. =D

  9. lol Ana, well like you said you can return it. I don't know anything about Cameras. You should get what you want. I went with Nikon cause you had it and plus Ray did research on it for me and said it was the best (D60) for a beginner like me.

  10. Steph: Well, the 40d is what I want, the only sucky thing is, I wish I'd been able to see it at a store. Believe me, I tried. There aren't any actual "photography" stores. I looked. Oh well, I can return it if I want to. No biggie. Yes, the d60 is a great camera for a beginner. For sure. Enjoy it!

  11. Ana, don't worry Amazon returns don't take to long. I return stuff all the time. Takes about 5-7 days after it reaches them, sometimes less. Don't have buyers remorse! I just did tons of research before I bought my camera and asked lots of people what they thought. Went to Best Buy to play with both cameras before eventually deciding on one. For me I wanted to buy a camera I would have for a long time. I mean how often would I need a 2000 x 3008 sized picture? I always tell people get one camera and master it once you do you'll fall in love, that's what I did.

Now we will stop talking cameras!! LOL

  12. No we won't! haha One last question though... if I open it, use it and decide I don't like it, will they take it back that way? =/

  13. if you do open it and use it, make sure you open all the packaging very carefully and repackage it exactly as they did and it shouldn't be a problem. Just return it as soon as possible if you want to return it. I've opened stuff and returned it.

  15. oh my gosh I missed the whole debate! Man I wish I could of chimed in. Nevertheless, I really think its the *EYE* of the photographer not always the camera. In saying that you REALLY have an eye! I can't wait to see what you do with your new baby!!!

disclaimer: i in no way claim to have a good eye.

  16. onehappywife: LOL! You do have good eyes! Both of them. Both of mine are bath. Which is why I wear glasses. hahaha! Thank you. I agree with you 100%. We'll see how I like it. It should arrive tomorrow!
