I told you I'd do it!

Sofia Hair

Ok so know how I told you that I've been wanting to paint Sofia's room pink? I've wanted to do that ever since we moved into the house. The walls are this tan color. Dark tan though. It's a nice color, don't get me wrong. I like it. But for her room it was too dark. It made her room dark. I kept telling hubby I wanted to do it but he always told me that we had to take a class at Home Depot to learn how to do it. At least, that was his way of getting out of it. I dunno. Anyway... my sister in law is in town and she told me how she was helping her daughter in law paint a room in her house for her soon to be born son. I was like, "Awww... how awesome. I always wanted to paint Sofia's room..." She said, "Let's do it. Go get the paint and I'll help you." I was like, "Really!? Ok!" So I went to Home Depot yesterday and I picked the perfect shade. OMG'osh, it's so nice. I love it. We stayed up till 11pm'ish painting her room. We didn't finish it though because since the color on the wall before that was dark, we had to go over it over and over again. So I have to go buy some more pink paint and white paint for the ceiling and her toddler bed. I'm painting that white too. I peeped into her room this morning and it looks AWESOME! The room looks so much brighter! I'll take pics once it's done to show you guys. Who needs men? (nothing against you guys) when women can get the job done! hahaha! When I talked to my hubby and told him what I was doing, he said, "What...?" like he couldn't believe it. I said, "I told you I'd do it!" We both just laughed.

I do have another picture of Sofia to share with you. This is another thing I told hubby I'd do. For the past week or so I've noticed Sofia's hair falling out a lot. I was freaking out but everyone I mentioned it to told me it was normal and that it's just her losing her baby hair. Well... it's stopped falling somewhat. I think she was shedding a layer. haha Well, I also noticed that she'd keep rubbing her face and eyes because her hair had gotten so long that it'd get into her eyes and tickle her face. So since I have the opportunity was there, I went ahead and gave her bangs and trimmed the ends of all her hair. She looks even cuter now! I took a picture with my cell phone and sent it to my hubby (he was against it for a long time) and he replied with a "OMG! She looks even more beautiful..." So he approved. Here is what her hair looks like now. I guess I should have taken a before picture but it was just a spur of the moment thing when I decided to just do it. I did it myself so if it looks wonky, u know who to blame it on! haha And Stephanie, yes, I did save a strand of her hair that I cut. It wasn't a LOT. But her first hair cut nonetheless. =)
Sofia's Hair Cut

This one is before her haircut but she's in the bathtub. You can't tell. I just wanted to share it cause she looks so cute and I love my new camera. It takes the most awesome pictures!

  1. Crazy Ana! When you paint a dark room, you're supposed to buy a primer. It's sort of like a white paint to put on the walls first before adding the new paint because eventually the dark color is gonna start showing through. I wanna see the new pink room!!!!!

And Sophia's gorgeous, as usual. :)

  2. Obviously! I've never done this before, how the hell was I supposed to know? LOL My SIL on the other hand has experience so it's HER fault! The thing is, the color looks light. It's a light color but I guess it decieving because it still showed through. Oh well, you learn through mistakes. It should look better after we coat it again.
