Ok, if you guys know me well, you know that I've shared some some of my pet peeves in the past. One of the many (lol) is folding socks when they come out of the dryer. I hate it with a passion. Seriously. Ever since I was little girl, I remember hating to fold socks. I remember that I hated folding them and putting them together that when the time came to get dressed in the morning and I didn't have matching socks, I didn't care. I'd wear a red or a black one. LOL! I got scolded for this plenty of times but I didn't care. I just didn't do socks. Period. Well, it's almost as if I got cursed because I got married to a man who goes through about 3 pairs a day. So what does that mean? Yeah. A-lotta-SOCKS.
A conversation we had today as we were both trying to be a "team" and fold laundry together.
[Ana folds the big items hoping Hubby will remember she hates folding socks but nope]
[Ana lets out a big sigh]
Ana: *sigh* You drive me crazy.
Hubby: Why do you say that?
Ana: Because... you know I hate to fold socks and look at all these socks I have to fold!
Hubby: It's ok. I'll fold them.
[Ana feels guilty]
Ana: No, it's ok... I'll do them.
[The realizes again why she hates folding socks]
Ana: You know, it wouldn't be so bad if you didn't always turn them inside out. I HATE turning them inside out! Why do you have to do that? Why can't you just pull them off like normal people?
Hubby: [laughs] what..? Because I want the dirty part to get washed well.
Ana: Right, so just pull them off because the dirty part is on the outside.
Hubby: No it isn't.
Ana: yes it is...
Hubby: No it isn't.
Ana: Yes it is.
Hubby: Just leave the socks alone. I'll take care of them.
Ana: [thinks: YES! Victory is mine!]
[As hubby folds clothes, he throws one back at me]
Hubby: Here, take your sock, woman! It doesn't have a pair.
[he rolls his eyes]
Guess I should lay off the sock peeve a little huh? Because I ain't perfect. I know this. =)

Oh my gosh! I hear you girl, I hate folding laundry anyway, but socks are the worst. Especially other people's socks. I pull my socks off so they aren't inside-out but husband doesn't so I have to stick my hand in and pull it right... EWW. No, I refuse to.

ReplyDeleteHaha, doesn't the elasticity wear out if you fold them? Maybe I just tell myself that. I'd just throw the socks in a pile somewhere and sort them as you need to wear them.

I don't fold socks. I've been wearing mismatched socks for 20 years. When I was in high school, I would tell anyone who questioned my socks "My feet are color blind."

folding socks.... boo!
ReplyDeleteI throw them all in a 'sock bucket' which is actually a laundry basket. The kids are supposed to fold them and put them away. If they don't, they have to find their own in the mornings.
Oh, and during your video comment? At first it looked like you were playing the piano because you rocked back and forth once in a while with music in the background. LOL! Until you demonstrated pulling out the socks with your hands waving. The illusion was ruined!

That music is actually playing over the baby monitor. I always have it on at night... the music over the monitor is music from the music channel on t.v. It's the soundscapes channel. My fav!

LOL!! Your too funny, Tocayita! Sock suck!!!!!! I only wear them during the cold season because my feel are like popsicles, hehe!! So I really don't worry about dealing with them. My hubby foldes his own clothes so, it's not too bad for me.

OMG. I hate hate hate folding socks too. I hate trying to pair them up and turning them inside out again. I also hate untangling bras. No matter what I do, they still end up all tangled.
