Our weekend turned out to be great! We didn't go to the the Botanical Gardens on Saturday like we had planned because I looked at the Calendar of Events for San Antonio online and saw they were having some pretty interesting and fun things going on downtown that day. Sunday we spent at home watching 80's movies we rented. The St. Patrick's Festival and the Luminaria: Arts Night were going on downtown on Saturday. They had lots of interesting booths, music, food, art and lights! It was amazing. It was lit up beautifully! Sofia did such a great job too! We ended up calling it a night though around 8:30 because our baby girl was ready to go to bed. And although she is a late-nighter, I wanted her to get good rest at home and not get woken up by loud music, people clapping, screaming, etc. I took pics... of course! Here are a few.
And earlier that same day (Saturday) Hubby did some yard work and washed our car. Both were due for some fixin' uppin'! Our front yard was full of dead leaves! And our car was pretty dirty... Sofia and I sat outside with him to keep him company. I took out our little ipod speakers and jammed to tunes. I had my camera with me and took pictures of random stuff. I asked Joe to take a picture of Sofia and I again because I just can't get enough of taking pictures with my baby girl... I want to have LOTS and LOTS of them so that I can look back at them and remember how tiny and beautiful she was. I have to remind myself to put myself in the pictures too. I'm trying! *hehe* It's so hard to hand over the camera to the hubby and let him have control over that. I am scared he won't capture a moment like I would. Or that he'd miss a moment "I" would have capture, you know? So yeah, I'm working on that. Speaking of camera... the battery died on me after we left downtown and when I got home to charge it, I could't find the charger. I swear I was freaking out. I turned this house upside down looking for it and nope! Nada. So I sat down and was like, "Ok, Ana Lilia... calm down! It's ok... it's ok. Try to remember where you left it. Where could it be?" I thought long and hard and checked places I had checked 10 times before and then it hit me! WACO! Maybe I left it in Waco! I texted my niece and asked her if she'd seen it. She told me it was there. DAMN! How could I have forgotten that!? Sheesh! So she's going to send it to me in the mail tomorrow morning. She knows me... I couldn't live without it! LOL I'm so crazy right? I'm obsessed with my camera. My life would be so boring without it.

This is my favorite one from that morning:
I edited it in Photoshop and added the borders. I love the result.
On a side note, I'm calling today to make my annual kidneys checkup. I haven't seen my kidney specialist in almost 2 years! I'm bad, I know. But I'm very concerned about my blood pressure again. And some shortness of breath I've been having. As well as some stabbing pain that feels like is coming from my heart and sometimes my arm hurts a little when that happens. I did some research and turns out PCOS and heart disease are related. As is Policystic Kidney Disease and HBP! It's so scary! Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death of American women? GAH! I know! Freakin' SCARY! Now that I'm a Mommy, I really want to take care of myself. I want to be around for her for a LONG time and I can't afford be ill or not be in good health.

Gotta get that checked out. If it turns out nothing's wrong, then fine. I won't feel stupid. It's better to be safe than sorry right? I'll let you know how that goes.
And well, with that, I'll end my novel. Hope you made it to the end. It's Monday! It's supposed to rain REALLY bad here today. Noooooo... not again!? Grrrr... I wish it was sunny and bright forever. But not hot. Or humid. LOL!
[hidepost]Oh! I forgot! I wanted to share a video with you guys! I took this video while we were in Waco. I sing the ABC's to Sofia in this video. Compare it to bottom one I took 2 months ago. Gosh, how she's grown! Enjoy!

It sounds like you had a nice weekend. :-) I love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend went as planned except I didn't go to Nordstroms today which is no big deal. We went to our friends annual St Patricks Dinner party last night. It was yummy fun! :-)
Hubby worked in the yard today too . . .
XOXO ~ Have a great week and I hope you do get into see your doctor ASAP. :-) ~
Jackie's last blog post..Mmm . . . a slice of Patti Pie.
awww her little face lights ups so much when she hears you sing! that is so precious! awwwww. loved it!
ReplyDeleteoops i hit submit too fast! doh! lovely pics! my hubby spent all day yesterday trying to get all the leaves off the yard and into bags, but the more he worked the more leaves would fall. LOL it was funny. the winds are crazy around here lately!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I totally agree with you that photos really add interest to blog postings; that's why I turn to my trusty Photoshop and enhance at least one or two funny photos for each of my writings.
ReplyDeleteFlickr has an area that contains a great source for super photos you can use as well (so long as you credit the original photographer).
Enjoy,
Barbara

My weekend was good. Did the usual grocery shopping. Also bought a pressure cooker. It made awesome Sweet & Sour Chicken in less than 10 minutes for Saturday's dinner. We tried a 5 pound boneless turkey breast (Hormel brand) for Sunday and the pressure cooker cooked it in 45 minutes. The usual time is 3 1/2 hours by oven. It tasted awesome.
ReplyDeleteHubby has decided (on his own, after four years) that I can have another cat. Don't know when I will get it though. It will be a purebred male Tonkinese. I'm excited but now wondering if it will fit in with my snotty, high strung female cats. Have to save lots of money now for the cat!
Your photos are awesome. You have the same camera as my oldest son. I love to see your photos. You have a good eye for composition, Ana.
Carol
Sofia is too cute. Our babies grow so fast and its great try to catch as many moments as you can.

Hey Ana, I can't seem to see the videos, can you email me the password porfavor?
ReplyDeleteGracias
Gosh... I want whatever camera you're using, the pictures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteSofia is such a ham! She seems so happy in the video! You're lucky you have such a cute baby... This may sound wrong but I think a lot of babies are funny looking, and resemble little old men! Sofia definitely does not! haha ok bye!
can you tell me how I can login or register to see the private picture ones
ReplyDeleteJackie: Thank you! I called to schedule my appointment today but they were full for this month and next month's calendar wasn't available to the operators to fill in till next week so I have to call back next week sometime. Oh... did you take pictures at the party? I'll have to go pay you a visit and see what you're up to. I'm so sorry I haven't visited a lot lately. I have a million things running through my head that I need to get done and only a few actually get accomplished! LOL
ReplyDeleteLaurie: Thank you! hahaha! That does sound funny! My hubby ran out of bags towards the end so he ended up brushing them on to the street. LOL! Shhhh... don't tell anyone. It wasn't that many though. It was a small little pile.
ReplyDeleteBarbara: Hi! Thank you! Photoshop is great. I couldn't live without it either. Comes in very handy with the pictures. Thanks for the visit!
ReplyDeleteBrenda: I'll email you.
ReplyDeleteConnie: Ditto! Ain't that the truth!
ReplyDeleteCarol: Hi there! We're doing grocery shopping today. I hope the weather cooperates with us and doesn't decide to pour when we are loading them bags in the vehicle. A pressure cooker, huh? NICE! I've been wanting to buy one for a long time. Maybe next big purchase will be that.
ReplyDeleteAnother kitty? *hehehe* Congratulations! Another addition to the family is always great. How exciting! When I see kitties I want to take one home but I have to remind myself that I have 2 dogs and a cat. I don't need anymore. They're all a handful! LOL
Glad you had a good weekend. =)
Crystal: Thank you! The camera I have is a Canon 400d/ Digital Rebel Xti. It's a DSLR. I use different lenses for my pics too. I love having that control over my images. You should get it! It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, and thank you on the compliment for Sofia. I think she's the most beautiful baby on this planet. But of course ya know? She's my daughter. All mommies think that way. Most look a little "weird" the first few weeks/months of life. So I can sort of relate. I used to ask my Mom when my siblings would get cute when she brought them home from the hospital! LMBO!!! How mean is that? LOL
There is a "log in" link on the side bar and in the entry. I think? You should be able to see it even if you're not a member.
ReplyDeleteHere's a quick link for ya. I thought you were registered already!
I am horrible about taking pics of me and sophia. I have like 1255746158 of her and her dad though. I need to take more so in 12 years when she is yelling about how I am so mean and she hates me I have something to look at a remind me that I was once her favorite person in the whole word. Well next to her dad of course. She has ALWAYS been a Daddy's Girl!
ReplyDeletefor some reason it has not sent me a password and I cant see the private content.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a really fun weekend and the pictures are great as usual. If you want to be in more of your pics and have control over them you should get a wireless remote. I have one and I really love it!
ReplyDeleteThe video where you are singing to Sofia is so cute! Especially how she would look over at you and smile.
Anyway, I hope everything goes well for you when you get a chance to see your doctor.
Mika's last blog post..This Makes Me Want to SCREAM!
Sofia is so stinkin' cute I swear! She reminds me of Cheyenne in the last video...where she is doing nothing but NOT sleeping and talking. :D
ReplyDeleteWatch out, because it DOES go by SUPER fast!
Love the photos. I actually opened PS last night and was lost. I forgot allot of stuff. I don't use it so much. You need to do tutorials missy! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun at that festival. I miss going to those in the bigger cities.
Ray did landscaping and I did the usual inside the house. I did find some nice nick knacks for the house though.
I'm glad you are going to the doctors. Yes ur right you have to stay healthy for that precious little girl.
I really enjoyed your photos! I love the one with your husband and Sophia. That one is really cute. Dope tattoo as well! Glad you had a nice weekend!

ReplyDeleteawww wow so you had a great weekend!! the photos are beautiful, Ana! I really enjoyed this post!! what sharpness and great colors!
ReplyDeleteI can understand how you cannot live without your camera, teehee. you have such a great camera and you take such beautiful pics! I think you're really using it well 'cause the pictures show that! glad you found your charger.
You should definitely make/post some PS tutorials for us noobs *lol*.
the first pic of you and Sofia is lovely!! :3 and the one with her daddy, it's like super professional, the lighting and all! *lol* and he has a lot of tattoos! wow =D
hope everything works out well with your kidneys appointment! <3
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing weekend, Tocayita. I had a relaxing one myself. Spent time with the family and hung out in my back yard taking random pictures again. I love your pictures!! I love the one of Sofia on her belly, precious!!! Your Sofia videos are adorable!!!! She was as wide awake as that night owl on her jammies!! LOL!! Thanks for sharing!! BTW, I love posts with pictures too!!! :)

ReplyDeleteYour daughter is getting so big - she's beautiful, just like mom! Glad to see you doing so well :)
ReplyDeleteAshley's last blog post..School, school and more school!
Awww.... yeah girl! Hurry up and take lots of pictures of you and her together. And FRAME THEM! I ran to the store to buy a nice frame and printed that picture of both of us and put it in there right away. I didn't want to wait because I know me. I will never do it! I always say, "Later..." It saddens me to think Sofia will be closer to her Daddy than me. I want it to be equal but girls are girls... I remember when I was a teenager, I felt like my Mom was my worst enemy. I guess most of us go through a stage like that. I hope she's one of those few that doesn't go through it. LOL Your Sophia's so adorable! She's such a ham with the camera too, huh!? *hehehe*
ReplyDeleteDebbie: I had some pending "new users" approvals this morning. You should be able to view the private content now. Thanks for your patience! =)
ReplyDeleteMeagan: OMG! I don't know what to do with that girl... I try to go in to our room at night with the t.v. off, just some really dim lights and I rock her. To wind her down? But GOSH! It just doesn't seem to work. I guess it doesn't help that we both wake up around 9'ish in the morning everyday! LOL
ReplyDeleteMika: Thank you! You know, I will add that to my "wish" list for my camera. It would be so nice to have one of those. =)
ReplyDeleteSteffy: haha! Yeah girl... it can be a little overwheling to use PS at first. But you just gotta play around with it and get a feel for it. Practice makes perfect! Get to know how to use all the tools and features. Tutorials??!! Hmmm... maybe. I don't have time to do one where I have to take screenshots. That takes too much time. Maybe an video tutorial... we'll see. But don't count on it anytime soon. I'll add it to my list of "want to do"s LOL! I can't wait to move closer to you. We'll be able to drive to see each other. I can't wait to hang with you again... I miss those days! Us "goodie two-shoed" girls! Remember HER!??? OMG... I was scared I'd run into her here in Texas. She's from HERE! You know who I'm talking about right? LOL That bee-i-tee-sea-ehch!
ReplyDeleteInga: Thanks girl! Yeah, his tats are pretty cool. Even though I don't have any, I really like his. I don't think I'd ever get one. It's just something I've never wanted to do. But I like them on other people. He has another big one on his back in big letters that spells our last name. He loves getting tatoos. He's planning to get another one done before we move out of San Antonio this Aug. I think he wants to add Sofia's name to his arm. I forgot. LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise! Photoshop Tutorials? Eeck. I dunno. Maybe I'll just make a post of links that I use and come in useful for me with my photographs. I don't have all that time to do that. I barely have time for my own blog and designing it. But never say never. Maybe I'll do some video-tutorials. Just for you "noobs"! hahaha
ReplyDeleteYes, he has a lot of tatoos. That's what I tell him everytime he wanst to get a new one. But he can't ever have enough. LOL His next one will be Sofia's name on his arm, I think. He wants to get it done here before we move in August because he really likes that guy who does his tatoos here.
=)
Maddie: Yes, sorry... you did have to re-register. I approved you this morning though. You should be in.
ReplyDeleteTocayita: Thank you! She still hates bellytime! But I think it's my fault because I don't put her on her belly as often as I should. I hold her alot. LOL I gotta remind myself to put her on her belly more. If not, she's never going to learn how to roll onto her back. LOL! You are taking great pictures too, my friend! Just have fun with it! =)
ReplyDeleteWow!The pics came out great--especially the one of your husband and the baby. And the site looks great, too. Take care!
ReplyDeleteAshley: Thank you! Yes, she is! Everyday she grows a little bit more. I can see it. It's a bittersweet feeling though. It's nice to see her grow but at the same time, I wish she could stay a baby longer. Babies are the definition of "true innocence". =)
ReplyDeleteDiamond: Thanks girl! =)
ReplyDeletemy goodness Sophia has gotten so big. Sad but true girls are usually daddies girls.
ReplyDeleteI'm in :) I can't stand the cuteness! Omg you're so lucky you get to smell baby breath all day. Mine is already big and hardly lets me hug or squish him anymore lol.
ReplyDeleteYour pics are so awesome..loved them! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the doctor's office.
Hugs.
Oh my gosh ana..that little girl looks just like her daddy... I just noticed it right now when I saw the pic of them together. Great pictures BTW...she is so darn Cute!
ReplyDeletegorgeous pictures as always. it looks like she is kissing you back in that last one AWWWW. I hope it's not as serious as all that for you. I will be waiting to read what the doctor says. Prayers and love as always.
ReplyDeleteAngelsent: yes... it's true but there are a few cases where they are attached to both. LOL I hope we're in that bunch!
ReplyDeleteMaddie: hahaha! Yes, I am lucky. But I'll be in your shoes eventually one day! LOL She'll be pushing me away yelling, "stop kissing me Mom! Gosh! You're embarassing me!" haha Baby smell is the best. I love to sniff her to death every day. I can't get enough. I'm enjoying it while I can because days fly.
ReplyDeleteMayra: Thanks girly! Miss chatting with ya! I haven't seen you online lately. Hope you're doing well... I might just have to call you on the phone! Don't make me do THAT! LOL *hugs* Hope you're feeling better by now. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteSuni: Thank you! They told me to call again to schedule an appointment next week. So hopefully I can see my doctor soon. Thanks hun'!
ReplyDeleteVero: Yes she does look like him a lot. More and more each day. I see it everyday. Ever since she was born and given to me in my arms for the first time, I said that! I said, "She looks like you!" hahaha Thanks!
