The Married Phone Call.

R emember those days when you first met your other half? Before you got married and moved in together? Remember when you just couldn't wait for them to call you on the phone? You'd sit by the phone day and night waiting for them to call? No? Oops! Sorry, well I did! Hubby and I had a long distance relationship for a good year or two? When he was stationed in Japan and I was back in the states. (Obviously before we got married!) I even remember the days when we were in High School and we'd stay on the phone talking for hours till either his sister yanked the phone from his ear on his end or my Mom would tell me, "I need to use the phone now, Ana." I'd roll my eyes and tell Joe, "Somebody needs to use the phone. I'll call you back." And he'd say, "Ok. But call me back, ok?" I'd laugh, "Ok. I wll!" And when I called him back he was there. BY THE PHONE. Never missing my call. I recall hearing him argue over the phone with his older sister a few times too, "No, it's my turn! You've been on the phone all damn day!" Yikes. I'd blush and tell him that it was ok. "Let your sister use the phone. I don't want her to hate me. We can talk later." "You sure?", he'd ask. "I'm sure." His sister loves me for that to this day! hahahaha

Anyway, there is a point to this post. While we were at our hotel room on Friday, Hubby came home to grab some stuff we had forgotten. The base hotel is literally 1 block away. We could walk. It's on base. So convenient! So hubby leaves our room and comes home. While I'm back at the hotel room waiting, I realize I want him to bring something else for me. And this is what happened next.

[Ana picks up cell, dials Hubby's cell phone number]
*ringggg...ringgggg...ringgggggg....ringgggg...ringgggg....ringgggg*
[Ana's directed to voice mail]
[Ana hangs up.]
Ana: Augh! He never answers his phone when I call him! Grrrrrr...
[Ana dials HOUSE number cause she knows he's THERE]
*ring... ringggggg*
[Hubby picks up]
Hubby: Hello?
Ana: How come you never answer your phone when I call???
Hubby: You didn't call me.
Ana: Yes I did. I just called you on your cell phone and you didn't pick up.
Hubby: No you didn't.
Ana: Yes, I did...
Hubby: No, you didn't.
Ana: Joe, I just told you, I called you on your cell phone and you didn't pick up.
Hubby: No, you didn't.
Ana: Joe, yes I did. I know I called you! Why do you make it sound like I'm out of my mind and I never called you? I DID call you but you just didn't hear it or your phone didn't pick up.
Hubby: But my phone never rang.
Ana: Right. But I did call you.
Hubby: No you didn't.
Ana: *sigh* YES, I did.
Hubby: Anyway, did you need something.
Ana: [very aggravated at this point] Yes, bring back my camera bag. (LOL!)
Hubby: Ok.
Ana: OK.
Hubby: Hey...
Ana: What?
Hubby: You didn't call.
[Ana hangs up]
[CLICK]
*dial tone*
