"My Daddy's at home too..."

Hubby and I took Sofia to a different playground here in our town today. We try to rotate the parks we take her to only because I figure it's refreshing and exciting to her to go to a different one every time. We get there and there's a little girl about Sofia's age on the playground. Her Mommy's sitting alone reading a book on one of the two benches available to sit on. Sofia runs to the playground and the little girl gets excited! I'm sure she's thinking "Yay! A friend!" Sofia's a very social girl, she immediately went up to her and asked her about her doll and made conversation and next thing you know, they were playing together. It was really cute. Time passes... they are sitting on the ground, talking... And us parents are staring at them and listening to them converse. This is what was memorable and hilarious that I had to share.

Sofia: Where's your Daddy?
Girl: My Daddy? [she looks around stumped for a second] Oh... he's at home...
Sofia: [stays quiet for a bit... takes it in] Oh... My Daddy's at home TOOOOOO!!!!

The little girl's Mom sitting next to us starts giggling. So do we...

Me: [yells out loud for her to hear me] Hey hey now... your Daddy's right here, silly! LOL

HAHAHAHA! I could NOT believe that little girl lied! LOL I think she did it more so she could relate to the little girl. We adults were just laughing. I really don't care if the other Mom thought that I was with my "lover" or "having an affair" with the man I was sitting next to while my daughter was playing on the playground but my goodness! LOL This reminds me of the story my Mom tells me about me lying about her being my Mother when I was little. She said I got mad at her for X reason when she dropped me off at school, so to get back at her, when she came to pick me up at the end of the day, I told my teacher she wasn't my Mother. She says she was in tears and was asking me why I was lying and that I would NOT budge! LOL How horrible of me! I seriously have NO recollection of that, Mother. I hope Sofia doesn't try to pull that on me ever. I don't know what I'd do!

  1. LOOOOOOL!!!! So funny! If Sofia tries that with you, just say "Oh, okay, well then bye" and start to walk away. That will change her tune FAST! I pity if my son tries that!! LOL :)
