Breakfast today.

I'm trying to eat healthier now. For the most part, breakfast is easy for me. It's dinner that's a challenge! One of the things I eat now in the mornings is Yogurt with Granola topped with fresh fruit. I was tired of always having cereal. How boring, right? LOL Plus, I have the time to make a yummy breakfast, so I should take advantage, right? Right!

I went online searching for heart healthy recipes and I found a lot. This is one that I found. The other one called for some sort of cheese. Maybe it was cottage cheese? But YUCK! I don't like it so I replaced it with Dannon non-fat vanilla yogurt. So delish! I bought some Organic fruit and nut granola. Next time though, I'll make sure and get the one without fruit because I hate how they are so hard to chew and they get stuck to your molars. GRRRR! LOL I topped it with whatever fruit I have. I didn't have strawberries but I had blueberries and bananas and I added one slice of canned peaches. Delicious, I tell ya! It's very filling and satisfying.

I'm also trying to drink more water. 8-10 cups of water daily so I make sure and drink a cup to two cups every hour or two. It's hard! But if you stick to it, it's a breeze. Not on your bladder though that's for sure! haha

This is just an example of what I eat in the mornings during the week. I'm trying to not eat pancakes as much anymore. lol Because man, I could eat them everyday if I could. They are so yummmmmmmmmmy...

What do you usually eat in the mornings for breakfast?

Here's a song for you to jam to this morning... a song from the movie "Despicable Me". I love that movie and the soundtrack is off the hook! Enjoy!

  1. I love yogurt, fruit and granola!! I've been trying to eat a little healthier also. I've started to buy the frozen Healthy One meals because they are part of the Weight Watchers points meal plan. However, I still have a hard time drinking water...terrible, I know. I'm sure I'll get better with time. I try to have egg and cheese sandwiches, bagels or a Healthy One breakfast sandwich for breakfast. Oh and I like to eat a baNaNa & a cup of OJ with breakfast also. =D

I don't like American yogurt but I LOVE Greek and Mediterranean yogurt....Ana, you've made me hungry lol! Now I gotta go raid my fridge!

  3. Ana: I've never heard of Healthy One meals. Are they the frozen type? I used to be able to eat frozen meals but even those "healthy" frozen type meals have too much sodium for me. So I have to watch that. I watch my sodium intake to the T. I have to, due to my hypertension. I'm glad that's working for you girly! Thanks for sharing what you eat for breakfast, gives me some ideas too!

  5. That looks so good and healthy! Try soy yogurt.

I love healthy breakfasts, I had a bit of a bad eating streak around new years, I didnt want to join the diet band wagon lol but saw that what I was eating was terrible. Hubby keeps making eggs and bacon most of the time and honestly Ive grown a bit tired of it, he's already on heart meds for blood pressure and he drinks way too much coffee(bad influence lol). Ive been eating lots of oatmeal and fruits and giving it to the kids to show them that eating eggs and bacon all the time isn't healthy for you lol and they like the fruits in it. Your on your way to eating the best yummy foods around =)

  6. Joann: Thanks girly! Hmmm... I'll have to try Soy Yogurt! Never had it before. I've been eating bad too. I gained all the weight that I had lost before I went to Cali over the summer. It's so hard to keep the weight OFF. I feel ya. And right now, with only one working vehicle, well I'm stuck at home and can't drive to GYM. And since I can't drive at night because it's hard on my eyes, by the time hubby gets home, it's too dark. I can't go.

We can do this! And let's not think of it as a diet though. Let's think of it as a new healthy eating lifestyle. *wink*
