T was my first Mother's Day this Sunday! It was wonderful. What did we do? Nada. My Hubby arrived back from deployment late the night before so he arrived in Waco to pick Sofia and I up early Sunday morning (Mother's Day). My niece came into our room and greeted me with beautiful carnations in a vase, a bag of mini-snickers (my favorite!) and a card. How sweet is that?! AND she made me a wonderful Mother's Day breakfast. She knows I love the waffles her waffle maker makes so she knew just how to make me happy. She did the whole shabang! Eggs, toast, bacon, and fruit salad. It was delicious. After breakfast I wanted to help her out in the kitchen but she scolded me with a "Tia (aunt in Spanish), out! OUT! You're not allowed to do anything today! Go... Go." LOL! That felt nice! "So, if Sofia has any dirty diapers, you hand her to Tio (Joe) or to me and we'll take care of it," she said. HA! Yah right! The thought was nice but ummm.... the diaper duty never ends for a mommy. They quickly forgot of course. But no biggie. Believe it or not, as a woman who tried to conceive for sooooooo long, diapers are not a big deal. It's a great time to bond with Sofia. She loves for me to change her diaper. As gross as that may sound to some of you. Whaevaaaaa! lol
Joe arrived just in time for breakfast and he arrived with a bouquet of flower for me and and 2 cards. I said, "Two cards? What, you couldn't make up your mind on which one to get me so you bought me both?" He says, "Just read them..." I did. One was from Sofia and one was from him. Awwwwwwwww... how sweet was that!? He expressed what a great Mommy he thinks I am. That totally made my feel happy! I'm glad he's proud of the job I'm doing. It's a tough one. There's no manual but I do my best.

[/hidepost]My brother in law made us steaks for dinner before we left. So that was nice too. We just relaxed and chilled the whole day. The hightlight of the day though HAS to be when Sofia pooped on me. She was sitting on my lap. I was feeding her when all of a sudden I feel a reallllllyyyyy warm spot on my leg. I thought it was pee but turns out it was a big pile of poopie that came out of her diaper. Ha! Perfect huh? LOL We all laughed. I thought it was hilarious. I'll never forget my first Mother's Day, that's for sure! Hope all you Mommies had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I did. =)
Small shoutout to Mommy. Thanks for the card and the "$" to "pamper myself".
Mayra, thank you for the card in the mail too. You're a sweetie pie!
