The Funny Things She Says #2

I'm overdue for this one. My daughter is at that age now where she just says the funniest things. A lot of the times she leaves us with a funny confused look on our faces. LOL It's hilarious to learn about the way she "hears" things. LOL She's trying to make sense of it all in her little brain. It's amazing. I love to see her grow up. It's a little bittersweet but it's great to see her developing into her own little person. *smile* Hope these bring a smile to your face as much as it does to ours.

Hubby and I were extremely tired when we got back home today from our little "mini-get away" in El Paso, TX. Sofia was very upset. I think she was more upset because she was asleep when we arrived home and we had to wake her up to get our of her car seat. When she woke up she was cranky, fussy, MEAN and sad. She was crying - sobbing. Our conversation went a little like this:

Me: Baby, why are you crying? Does your head hurt? Are you still sleepy?
Her: Nooooooooooooo!!!
Me: Do you want to go to sleep?
Her: Noooooooooo!!!!
Me: Ok, so why are you so upset?
Her: [in between sobs] Because I want to go the SHOW AND TELL!
Me: Show and tell? [really thrown off.]
Her: [crying and sobbing]

Hubby tried to come and console her but it only made it worse. She was MAD. I told him to leave her alone, give her space and let her "let it out". He thought I was being mean but NO, I know MY DAUGHTER. He spoils her so much, as horrible as it sounds, it just feeds that anger and wanting to get "her way". He laid with her for almost 10 min. She was sobbing and crying. He got a little urked about it and ended up just leaving her alone. He jumped in the shower and shortly after, I walked out of the room and close the door behind me. Then she was SCREAMING/SOBBING/CRYING. Then she started yelling "Mommmmmm..." She wanted me to go back. At that point, enough was ENOUGH. I got really stern with her. I walked back in and said "What IS IT, Sofia?" And she said "I want you. I'm scared." [insert confused look here]

Me: Do you want me to lay down with you?
Her: [sob] Yes..... [reaching arms up to me]
Me: Ok, but you need to stop crying. That IS ENOUGH.

The crying continued for a bit. She calmed herself down but it stopped.

Fast forward to later on in the evening while I was changing her into PJ's.

Me: So did you have fun yesterday and today? Yo Gabba Gabba concert was so much fun, huh?
Her: YES! And I loved the Show & Tell. I want to go back. It's so pretty.
Me: Show & Tell (again with that thing!)
Her: Yes... and the elevator was fun toooooo...

Then - it HIT me. show and tell - HOTEL. She was referring to the HOTEL. hahahahahaha!!! We stayed at a "Hilton Doubletree" Hotel. She was upset because she wanted to go back to the Hotel. Awwww! Now I feel so bad. Total confusion and misunderstanding on my part. LOL! Gosh, this parenting thing is hard stuff I tell you! LOL Hubby and I laughed about it. That's all you can do really. I told him, "Look at you, spoiling her already. She's going to get used to staying at fancy hotels like that all the time..." He said "Well... I want the best for both my babies..."

At this point Sofia was in the bathroom going to use the potty. I said back to hubby "Awww... you're so sweet baby. I love you..." and she yells "DON'T KISS HIM!" bahahahahaha From the other room! That girl I tell ya!

She's totally a Daddy's girl.
