Foam Gingerbread House Project.

When we went to Walmart the other day to do our grocery shopping I stopped at the Crafts section to see if I could find some of the materials I needed to make those ornaments I've been talking about. Only found materials for making the round peppermint candy ornaments. Red and white felt and the needle and thread. No materials for the cupcakes. Ugh. It sucks that in this town the biggest store we have is a Walmart. Well... we have a Home Depot and Lowe's but we don't go to those very often. LOL Walmart is our best bet around here. Lame-O but oh well... we deal with it.

Yeah so I while I was in the Crafts section I saw a little 5.00 Foam Gingerbread House kit. I thought it'd be a cute little project for Sofia and I to do together. So we bought it. We decided to do it yesterday morning and it was... well... it was ok. LOL Definitely a little time consuming. haha! After doing this, I'm not sure I want to do a real gingerbread house yet! LOL It was fun though. It came out cute but I ended up doing most of it by myself because Sofia and Joe were play wrestling right next to me. LOL! Here's a video I took right before we started on the project.

I was really trying to take a picture of her but didn't realize the camera was still set to record video so that's why Sofia is posing all silly at the very beginning of the video. LOL It's so funny... when she agrees to cooperate when I'm taking pictures, it's only if she can be silly. LOL And yes she is... a silly girl with an ATTITUDE! I meant to say in the video that we still plan to make a real gingerbread house after this but I never got around to finishing the sentence because Sofia threw me off when she pulled away the box. She was like, "It's MYYYYY box!" lol Like I said... silly! Enjoy. I even come out in the video. Yay! Ignore the double chin. Bah!

Ok. So, where do we start Sofia. What do the instructions say?

She was really looking long and hard at it like she could read! LOL

Hmm... maybe Momma can help?

This is the part where she had a blast. Punching out all the shapes and stuff.

We have to take out all the stickers and organize them in colors and shapes.

She was lovin' it!

Good job, Mija!

We ran into some trouble making the pieces match and connect correctly so.... we had to call our favorite HERO - Daddy!

Help Daddy! YOU DO IT!

He is so helpful!

Sofia says:

Cimpia wants to come in Mom! Open the door!

and then she kind of broke the house and I had to put it together again. This happened a few times. LOL

After all that...

It was pretty and cute but honestly? A little pain in the butt. LOL But hey, at least we had fun doing it and we got an extra decoration for Christmas! haha!
