Let me tell you what I hate most about being a housewife... (LOL!) Having to make sure that everyday there is a meal prepared. I think that's the thing I hate the most. I've never been wild about cooking... when I was little, I was the one who'd moan and groan when Mom would ask for help in the kitchen. I always preferred to clean than cook. And marriage hasn't changed that. LOL Having to come up with a menu each week and having to make a list of all the stuff we'll need on a tight budget is not my cup of tea, let me tell you... I make a menu to last us till the day after hubby gets paid again... but for some reason we slacked and didn't go to the store when we needed to. Now our fridge is empty. Going grocery shopping is a CHORE! Augh.
Since we didn't have anything to eat for breakfast, the hubbs left me some cash to go to the store early in the morning to buy food to make breakfast and for dinner tonight. I bought stuff to hold us off. I bought lots of fruit. Sofia loves fruit. Seems that's all she wants to eat right now. It's so frustrating too. She's in that stage now where she's being EXTREMELY picky about what she eats. It started a bit before we left on Vacation to Cali but it just got worse while we were there. Now it's just ridiculous. Stuff she did eat before, she refuses. One good thing is she is eating meat now. So that's a plus... but still... as if coming up with meals and grocery lists wasn't exhausting enough, she's being picky! LOL Does someone know how long this "picky eating" stage lasts? sheesh!
Anyway... a few hours after lunch, it was time for snack so I took out the blackberries I bought earlier in the day, took them out on the back porch and we both sat down and snacked on them. She was in heaven! She scarfed those things down like you wouldn't believe! hahaha If any of you mommies have any tips on how to get past this stage, please feel free to give them to me. I need them!
I love these shots! My fave has to be the 1st one of you holding the berry. Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame Sofia for only wanting fruit...it's so hot in Cali right now that I don't even feel like eating food. Fruit fills you and it's not heavy.
Enjoy your long weekend Tocayita!!! And keep sharing these gorgeous shots!!! ((HUGS))
OHHH BTW love the shots!!!
ReplyDeleteOK I'm with you on the dinner thing! I don't mind cooking I just hat coming up with a menu. And with the cost of food higher (or so it seems) its hard to shop on a budget!
ReplyDeleteAs for when the pickyness stops? GIRL GOOD LUcK! lol My Sophia STILL is SO picky! I hope when she gets older her palett will expand. I mean she can't eat noodles and peanut butter all her life! We have tried EVERYTHING, but still nothing works. Now I give up and as long as she is eating what she likes and its not junk I don't care. She is healthy so that is all that matters.
I never had blackberries before but the pic of them look totally yummy, I really got to go try some. I feel you about the grocery shopping I really need to go cause the fridge up here is totally emty and I keep putting off going to the store lol
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love cooking, Id give anything to be a housewife just to cook. BUT, I have to agree, finding the right stuff for the young one is tough. And I dont think the picky stage every ends. xD
ReplyDeleteI've never had blackberries before either but they look delicious.
ReplyDeleteI hate cooking too its the worse. I would rather wash all the dishes than cook a meal. I am so like you, back when I lived at homeI would always say to my mum I hate cooking I am going to marry a chef...well I did, only he quit being a chef (for a higher earning manual labour job) and the only thing he cooks when and if he cooks is burgers. LOL
