Monday Jamz!

I think I will make this a weekly thing! I'll choose a song that I've been jamming to a lot and write about it. Why I like it, what it means to me, how it makes me feel, etc. You get the idea. This Monday Jamz is a tribute to Michael Jackson who, as we all know by now, passed away on Friday due to a heart attack. Is it corny that hubby and I purposely jammed to him all weekend? I was telling him how the year we were born was the year Elvis Presley died. So although we were alive when a HUGE icon like him died, we didn't know what was going on, you know? So this feels more like the first time.

Anyway... one of my most favorite songs of MJ has to be "Billie Jean". Why? Because it reminds me of being little. Of my childhood. I remember when I was 7 or 8 years old is when I actually noticed him. That's when he came out with the sparkling glove, remember that? It just takes me back to my childhood. =) "Beat it" was another one of my favorites. I remember when the yellow beat it shirts came out, I HAD to have one. I made Mom buy me one. And I actually had a glove too! I wore that Beat It shirt out like you wouldn't believe! I remember wearing it under a bathing that fit me too small (ummm... it was my baby sister's bathing suit and I HAD to wear it because it was CUTE! haha! Yeah, I was terrible!) The bathing suit didn't fit right so in order to keep my boobies from flashing everyone, I had to put something underneath it. OMG, my Mother actually has pictures of that! Hillarious! Maybe one day I'll get her to scan it for me... =) What was your favorite Michael Jackson song?

  3. I took his passing very hard. I cried and cried. It might be pregnancy hormones, but he was such an integral part of my childhood. I loved his music. All of it. I saw him in concert in Los Angeles and let me tell you, it was an amazing show. He performed his butt off! We can't deny he was a music genius. His music will forever live on.
