Sofia had her 18 month checkup appointment early this morning. She is RIGHT on track on everything and is absolutely perfect in health! Makes me so happy. She weighs 20 lbs finally! I swear, the way that girl eats, you'd think she'd pack on the pounds! haha! Good thing she loves to eat fruit and veggies though! The doc said she has almost all of her teeth in. WOW! My baby's grown! She didn't like the nurse or doc touching her though. She put up a fight. She says hi to strangers but don't get too close because she doesn't like that. It has to be on her terms... So needless to say, she wasn't very nice to the immunization lady... she has a pair of lungs on her, let me tell ya! LOL Poor thing. She got 3 shots. And now her right leg is super sore and she is in pain. I put ice on it but she does NOT like that... I think the reason her leg is so sore is because her legs were stiff when the lady gave her the shots. I remember when I was in the hospital on bedrest, I used to get Progesterone shots. This one time, I was so scared of the needle because I knew how thick the texture of the progesterone was that when she injected me, I stiffened my leg and the needle bounced right out of me. And the next day? I was sore like a mofo. It hurt SOOOOO SOOO much to move my leg. I was like that for at least 3 days. SO I feel her pain. I really do. Poor baby.
Anyway... want to hear some bad news? Ok. Well some of you may already know this because you're on my twitter or flickr but Sofia broke my favorite lens. The 50mm 1.8 lens. It was an accident. She tripped on my camera strap and was losing her balance and her foot landed right on my camera/lens and she caved it in. It broke. I'm sooooo bummed. See, when I bought my camera, I bought the body only and bought that lens separately. SO I really don't have another lens. I do have the lenses that came with my canon film camera that we purchased in '99 but they don't serve me any good really. Not for the type of photography I like to do... =( And it bites because my sister had asked me to take some portraits of her and my nephew and I was going to do a maternity shoot for her best friend AND I had a possible client in Bakersfield through my niece. That's why I wanted to get my photography domain/website together before I left. Now it looks like it may not happen. I can't afford a new lens anytime soon. We are going to Cali in a few weeks and well, we're pretty much broke. Doesn't that suck???? OMG. What timing, I swear! *sigh*
Congratulations on Sofia's check up! You are raising a healthy little girl. good for you!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your lense. Things happen for a reason, maybe something bigger and better is coming your way.
Suck about your potential work, though.
at least you get to go to cali :P i dont know why i suddenly stopped getting your blog updates. i thought you stopped blogging! ugh! anyway, i am glad to know you are alright even tho it does suck that your lens is toast :( glad our little one is doing well and eating right :D love y'all
ReplyDeleteHey girly! Oh, don't feel bad. It happens. I'm horrible about keeping up with blogs these days too. =(
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go to Cali, for real! So many fun things planned. Glad to see you around girl. *hugs*
Hey Teresa! Thanks... I hope I'm raising her healthy! I was a little nervous that they would give me a hard time about her milk intake. Because she doesn't LIKE milk ONE bit. I offer it to her all the time but she doesn't LIKE IT. I do however, give her cheese and yogurt everyday. So when I told them that they said that was fine. She's getting her ideal amount. That was a relief! =)
ReplyDeleteYou're right about things happening for a reason. Maybe now hubby will realize I need a "true" good lens and not a cheap plastic one! LOL =)
I love this picture of Sofia!! As usual, goreous!! Owie, poor Sofia...shots suck!! Hope she feels better soon!!
ReplyDeleteBummer about your lens... but I'm glad Sofia is okay.
I'm so glad her ck up went well.
ReplyDeleteMy Sophia stayed home due to illness but is better so back to school tomorrow.
I cringe every time I read about the lens. But the main thing is Sofia was not hurt when falling.
At least they won't have you taking millions of photos on ur trip and you can just sit back and enjoy the family.
Oh, I am so sorry that you lens broke! Maybe you can find a good deal on Ebay and ask for it for Mother's Day coming up.
ReplyDeleteI know what you went through with Sofia when it comes to doctors. Peyton gives quite a fight too when it comes to anyone with a white coat on! :)
