Family Time

[hidepost][/hidepost]I 'm still in Cali (obviously)! I'm up at my Mom's house just chillin'. Last time I blogged I mentioned my sis was baptizing her son and the reception was at Redondo Beach. It was SOOOOOOO much fun! She rented a hall in a restaurant? She had a D.J., and an up and coming mexican singer. He was sooooo good, dude! People went up to him after he was done performing asking him to autograph his cd. He's trying to get a record deal but the guy is GOOD! I didn't get his "artistic" name though. I'll have to ask my sis. I know his real name is Omar. He's my sister's co-worker. How funny, huh? Anyway... we danced, ate dinner and had cake! OMG, it was so delicious. My sis got this real delicious cake with fresh fruit in it? *Ana drools* Yeah, very tasty! The highlight of the night was when someone pointed out the window down at the pier. Apparently, some guy was drunk and getting off his boat. He fell twice trying to get out of it! LOL Sad, but it was entertaining... My feet hurt from dancing and being on my feet all day. Not used to being in high heels! hahaha! The best part was getting family reunited for the event. I saw family members I hadn't seen in YEARS! They all loved Sofia and told me how happy they were for me. =)

[hidepost]The following morning I left with my Mom. It's about an almost 2 hour drive to her house from L.A. Sofia did surprisingly very well... She was getting a little fussy the last 30 minutes of the drive but she survived! Thank Goodness! I think that's pretty much how long she can tolerate sitting in her car seat. Poor thing! So I've been here just chillin' with the familia. It's been soooooooo nice. I forgot how much I missed my family. I mean, I miss them all the time but I just forget how nice it really is to be around family. I'm so used to not being around them. It's nice. I forget about everything else that's meaningless. I wish we lived closer. Ah well... Now that we'll be moving to New Mexico soon, I definitely plan on coming down more often. The flight here would be shorter. [thumbs up!]

I got to visit my grandmother a few days ago. I wanted her to meet Sofia. I took advantage and took video and pictures for our photo album. I'm sure Sofia will value those pictures when she gets older. Ya know? My grandmother is pushing 80 and you'd never guess that's really how old she is. She maintains in great health. I was glad to see her...


I also took Sofia to meet Joe's dad. Grandpa yelled out, "The Princess is here!" when we got there. LOL! It was so cute... Since Sofia doesn't know them that well, she started to get a little stranger anxiety. She's developing it already. She allowed them to hold her for about a minute and then she was DONE! haha She looks at me now and gives me that "Save me Mommy!" look. She also throws herself away or towards you now. That's something she just started doing here. It's so awesome to see her doing new things. Daddy's gonna FREAK when he sees her. She's grown in just the little bit of time we've been away from home!

Joe's arriving here tomorrow morning. I'm really excited! I bet he is too. He calls us everyday and tells me how much he misses us both. We leave on Sunday. Let's hope it's a smooth trip like it was when we left from San Antonio. Anyway... that's an update. I'll bb soon!

ps. One of my blog readers emailed me yesterday and asked how come when she clicks on my pictures here (the ones attached to my posts), it takes her to a page that says she can't see them. I'm answering her here again so you guys can read this too in case you were wondering too. Most of my pictures over on flickr are private or for family ONLY to see. Some are also only for family AND friends to see. So don't take it personal. eeeck. Hope that doesn't sound harsh. Just wanted to clear that out. Aight. BBL!
