This week in a nutshell...

Wow! What an interesting week this week turned out to be! So let me wrap it up in a nutshell. In Random order.

I've gone back to my healthy/vegetarian meals again. I sat down and looked through my STACK of magazines and pulled out some delicious recipes to try. Last night I made some "Poblano White Chili". A recipe I found in my VegetarianTimes magazine. LOVED it! Hubby loved it too! He even had seconds. Go me!

I had a dental cleaning appointment. Now my chompers are clean again. Have YOU been to the dentist lately? LOL! *just a friendly reminder!*
(old picture by the way!)

I had my annual pap smear Tuesday. TMI? I think NOT! I am ON TOP of my pap smears every year! It went well! =D I hope the results come back negative! (that would be a good thing!) ;)

Sofia is sleeping in her own bed now. FINALLY! I wanted to take advantage since we've been away from home for almost 3 months and she got out of routine here and had to get used to it all over. It was so easy! Of course, the bed is right next to my side of the bed but it's a baby step. She sleeps in it all night and doesn't wake up at night. Can I just consider myself lucky or is my daughter just the most awesome toddler ever? LOL I think both!

I've decided on a theme for Sofia's Bday party here. It's going to be "TinkerBell/PixieHoloow" themed. I found some really NEAT ideas and party accessories HERE. I can't wait! I think it'll be real fun and the theme idea leaves me open for lots of creativity! Can't wait! I'm working on that. Yay!

We got a storm yesterday coming through town. Not bad at all... I just hadn't seen pouring rain like that in a LONG time. Sofia and I ran outside and we stood out in the rain. Sofia asked if she could dance in the rain. I think it's so cute how she asks for my permission. Of course, I said YES! She was so happy! Here she is dancing in the rain! Ahhh... to be a kid again! Simple joys in life. I'm glad she's like me and appreciates that. =D

and here she is just being a CHEESE BALL! (love that smile!)

I had "Red Cactus Pears" for the first time in my life! I saw them on Kristal's blog and HAD to give them a try. I've had the green ones. We call them "Tunas". I love the green ones but I have to say, the red ones are delicious as well! Maybe even a tad bit sweeter? I'm not sure but I just know that I fell in love with them! Mmmmm!

I watched the newest "TinkerBell and The Great Fairy Rescue" movie with Sofia. It's SO cute! And the soundtrack is adorable. I really love the main theme song. Here it is. Love the message. Listen to it.

On a bad note, 2 nights ago, I ended up in the Emergency Room. I was having heart attack-like symptoms. It was horrible. You've heard of that "impending doom" feeling? That's what I felt. We almost called 911 for an ambulance. But my heart calmed down just a wee bit and gave us enough time to call my sister in law (next door-literally!) to come over and watch Sofia while we rushed to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, my heart was beating what felt like 100mph and I was blacking out. GEtting tunnel vision... it was HORRIBLE. But I fought it so hard. I didn't want to DIE! I seriously felt like if I passed out, I was going to DIE. When I go to the ER, they checked my blood pressure and sure enough. It was sky rocket. 189/99! They put me on a vitals machine, immediately did an EKG on me and a chest xray. Fortunately everything was fine. No HEART ATTACK but all the symptoms were like it. After some blood work, turns out I suffer from a thyroid problem. "Hypothyroidism". Was told to follow up immediately with my doc. But of course, military care is crappy and I can't see a doctor till next week. God forbid I get those symptoms again and end up in the ER again. Augh. Anyway... I've done some research on the disease and WOW. I was just... taken away. It was like, when I was reading about the disease, I heard angels sing. Like "OMG... so THIS is why I've been feeling this way! Finally and ANSWER!" I can't wait to see my doc. Hopefully he/she will take this seriously and help me. If not, I'm asking for a referral to see a civilian doctor. Because mil doctors can be so dumb. At least the docs we have here at this small base are. But I'm just praying it all goes well.... Keep you posted on that.

And last but not least. I found this article titled "A Brief Guide To Life" through someone on my twitter today. LOVED it so much I wanted to share it. I really want a room that's all white. With white furniture, white bedding, white curtains, tons of light... that'd be a DREAM for me! Like this one!

(maybe with different pattern on the headboard. I don't think Joe would dig this one! ha!)

I am so happy it's Friday! Mostly happy for my husband because he works hard all week and he gets to relax and enjoy his days off with us. =D This weekend we're not doing much. We're very laid back. But we dooooooooooo plan on going to the "Hot Air Balloon Invitational" at White Sands. I am hoping Kristal can go! I'll be so sad if she can't make it! Last year we met and it was a blast!

(the quality is not the best. I was having trouble making the pics fit and adding audio to it which is why I never posted it! Oh well... I'm sharing it a year later! Better late than never I guess!)

And I got to meet the famous "Echo"! hahaha! Loved him! And her whole family, honestly! =D

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!

  1. Loved your post Ana!

Glad to hear you guys are getting back to your routine and Sofia is sleeping in her bed. ;)

Speaking of tuna's, I don't' really care for them but I had a couple in my kitchen. I didn't' realize they hadn't been cleaned so I picked them up and had several needles in my hand. EEK!

As I told you, I also suffer from Hypothyroidism but I've been taking meds for years now. I know the meds are supposed to regulate you...let me know how they help you.

I've always had white bedrooms, heck I think my whole house was pretty much white walls. Good luck with it, I'm sure you will love it.

    Happy weekend.

  2. I'm sorry I'm so late on replying. I'm updating my site and came across your comments. LOL I'm trying to be good about blogging! =D

I've had tunas needles/thorns or like I like to call them "picas" in my hands/fingers. They are a pain in the rear! You always have to be careful when handling them. They are practically invisible!

I'll keep you posted on the med I get put on for "Hypotyroidism". ;)

I bet your house was gorgeous... all white! =)
