It was fun!

Every year since we first moved here, we've made it a point to make it to the "Hot Air Balloon Invitational" held at White Sands, NM. We wake up REALLY early (like at 5am) to get there right before the sun rises. That ensures we get good parking and don't get stuck in traffic. SO not the case this year! LOL We got up early but due to things out of our control we made it in a little later than we would have liked. We got stuck in traffic going in & we got crappy parking. BOO! But... I picked an awesome spot for us to watch the balloons from. It was away from the whole crowd but close enough to enjoy the view. Sofia was not wild about the balloons this year. As a matter of fact, she was a wee bit scared when they'd fly over us. They must look HUMUNGOUS to her and they were pretty loud, so I can kind of understand. But we did loved them! I packed us all breakfast and we just chilled and enjoyed the weather and the show.

I noticed they didn't have ALL the balloons they usually have. Maybe they didn't make it out that day? And maybe they were going to fly them the following day. Nevertheless it was cool to see the ones that were there. I took lots of pics and even took some videos on my iPod Nano but... I can't find the cord to connect it to my PC so I can't upload it to my pc and share here. Boo on my cord! LOL As soon as I find it, I'll make sure and post it. I didn't get to meet up with Kristal that day. I'm bummed out about that. But maybe next year? Enjoy the pics. =)

On a FABULOUS note? Kristal got her town newspaper and spotted us on the picture attached to the article on the event! How freakin' crazy is that!? LOL I got a kick out of that because I think I even have a picture of the guy who took this pic. LOL Pretty cool though! Now I can say I've been in a newspaper! =P
