Birthday Girl...

So since we were in California a month before Sofia's Bday, we decided to celebrate Sofia's Bday a little early with a party around family and friends here. Why not, right? We'll just celebrate her bday again back home with our other family members and friends there in October. Maybe not something so big... Not that this was HUGE to begin with but we did have lots of food, huge cake and piƱata. Maybe for her real birthday we'll take her somewhere special and just make something delish at home for her. I want to try making her a "Princess Cake" with the help of this you tube video.
IDK, we'll see...

Anyway, her party was lots of fun. I decided to start the party a little later than the usual. We started the party around 4:30pm. You see, it gets really hot here so I knew if we did it any earlier, we'd all be roasting out in the sun. Gah! Heck no! I'm glad I changed it to 4:30pm because by then the sun was starting to set, the park was starting to settle down some, and it just didn't feel so dang HOT! I was super late to the party though. I feel so bad about that. We decided to buy a lot of the things last minute. So we got home late to start cooking some stuff, and I had to stay home while Joe ran to park to find a spot to grill. Then Sofia decided she needed her nap and I knew better than to wake her up and not let her get that beauty sleep because then she'd be a mean OL' GRUMP at her own party. Anyway we were able to eat comfortable (errr... could have done without the flies thought!) and we didn't have to worry about too many people at the park. It was practically perfect! We had just the perfect amount of people attend too. We nailed it just right too when it came to buying food because the carne asada we bought to grill was practically GONE by the time we wrapped it up. I made a TON of Salsa. It was so delish! Dang it! I forgot to take pics of that. =/ I kind of was a little out of it at the party. Towards the end, it was a little rushed because the sunlight was practically gone and we didn't want to drag the party longer. It was fun though! I know I had fun... We didn't expect a lot of kids so we got a small pinata... but dude, the kids had so much fun regardless. They had more fun running around the park than anything else! LOL

Sofia got some pretty awesome gifts! One of her favorites is her new "apple computer" that my awesome friend, Ana and her boyfriend, got for her!

Isn't it cute? LOL
Right now we're trying to keep her from opening all her gifts all at once because since we are leaving in 2 days and we want to start packing, it'd be too crazy to try to pack all those up again after she opens them. Gah! I don't even want to think about packing right now! I get so stressed! So not my favorite part!

But back to the party! Here are some more pics I managed to take. =) Thanks for looking!
Here she is with her tias and grandma there in the background! Grandma was sinking her teeth into something delish! *hehe*

Here is Sofia wearing a cute little shirt I found for her to wear that day! Just in case people weren't sure who the "birthday girl" was? HAHA! Way to rub it in, huh? =D

I was chasing her down while taking these!

Gosh, it was smoky! Nothing like the smell of smoke from a BBQ right? =)

Here is my aunt with my Mom (sisters!) My Mom is on the right. =D They had a great time!

Here is Sofia getting ready to blow out the candles on her cake...

And this last shot is right before we were leaving... she was sitting on her cousin's lap and just chillling with her other little cousin too... aww!

Sofia is totally going to miss family. I know it... I feel sad about that... but... we have to go home... because... well... there's just no place like home...
