Post Fourth of July.

Warning: This is a picture heavy post! Fourth of July was pretty uneventful. We didn't go anywhere this year. This new place we moved into is pretty much right across the street from where they have the annual fireworks show from so we didn't even bother driving there. We just pulled out our chairs into our front lawn and watched the show from there. It was nice. We enjoyed it. Sofia not so much. She gets a little scared from all the noise. Not only that but it started to thunder so she was freaked out even more. Hubby made some hot dogs on the grill for dinner and those were yummy. We couldn't get in the pool because it's dirty at the moment. We're treating it with chemicals. Pooey. I was PMS'ing all day that day so it could have been better. I took pictures but I didn't like how any of them came out so no pictures of that, sorry. LOL

We are getting some rain which is nice. NM needed it SO badly. I am not sure if Colorado has gotten any rain, I know they need it badly too. Hopefully no more fires get ignited. Now we're having a lot of flood warnings. Scary! This weather is so crazy now days. Am I right?
The day before yesterday was fun. Sofia and I got a little bored so we decided to have a mini picnic out in our backyard. I served us up a bowl full of cherries (her favorite!) and we went outside to eat them on our over-due-for-a-cut-grass. Sofia got creative and plucked some weeds and put them in a jar. haha! How cute is she? She said they were "pretend flowers". I love her imagination. While we were sitting there eating cherries, we noticed lady bugs on our grass. Lots of them. We started hunting them down for pictures. We got a few nice ones. I honestly was more interested in taking pictures of her but I have to get creative with her nowadays. She's not very willing to take pictures anymore. I wonder if the fact that I had a camera in her face since she was popped out of the oven has something to do with that? Hmmm... Oh well! Here are some shots I took.

Oh! Nacho (our new Chihuahua) makes an appearance. I promised you pictures of him so here he is. Sofia said it's her dog. LOL So right, here are pictures of Sofia's dog. He's really funny, hyper and sweet. Similar personality to BoLeo's but different. He's totally won our hearts!

These two (Sofia and Nacho) crack me up! They love and hate each other. He completely loves her, I know this. But sometimes, poor little thing... she can get on his nerves. The other day, he was laying down on my lap and he didn't want to be bothered when she came up to him to tickle his paws. He growled at her to give her a warning but she thought it was funny and she just kept picking at him... I kept telling her to stop but of course it's like talking to a wall sometimes... next thing you know he snapped at her and bit her hand. She got a good scratch on it. It made her cry. I babied her so much that she fell asleep in my arms. LOL! Today she was playing with him too. They were playing chase and next thing you know Sofia trips, stubs her thumb and all hell broke loose. LOL The waterfall of tears came down her face.... her mouth was upside down like charlie brown when he cries. LOL! Seriously, she makes that face. LOL! I babied her again and put her in the tub. Bath time! It was close to bedtime anyway. I took advantage. I put some lavender in there and she was pretty much out after she laid down. Warm baths always do it, huh? =)

She completely forgot about her little swollen thumb. And that makes me feel like super Mom. HAHA!

  1. Saw your post on instagram... Gonna need to update my RSS feed. What lens(es) did you use on these photos? I love the one where Sofia is holding the cherry

    1. Cecilia, it's the 50mm 1.4! I sold my 28mm 1.8 bcos I wasn't using it enough. I always go back to this one. The only sucky thi about this lens is that it doesn't zoom so you have to physically move closer or far away from our subjects and that sometimes means you lose a lot of shots. But you eventually get used to it. Plus, it helps burn calories., LMBO! And boy do I need to burn a lot! Hahaha

  2. Beautiful pictures! What a beautiful girl Sophia is!

Completely understand the love/hate relationship with Sophia and Nacho. Same thing with Audrey and our dog, he is big so he can usually take a lot from Audrey but when he's had enough he will run away from her in a heartbeat or just leave the room if he sees her coming.

    1. Marcela, poor dogs. They have such a high tolerance with kids, don't they? LOL
Nacho is a puppy so he loves that she chases him and plays tug of war and stuff but sometimes when he's tired and she's NOT, he gets a little GRRRR... LOL!
