So I have to share this story. You see that look on her face? That is the exact same look she had on her face the other day when she saw a lady walk past us at Walmart with super short and tight shorts. Here is how it went down.
We were in the egg/milk section. Sofia was sitting in the shopping cart. I reach over to grab eggs and my husband is looking at my iPad annotating down the price of the eggs I'm about to put in the shopping cart. That's how we try to stick to our budget. *hehe* So as we're doing this, I hear Sofia say "Where are her pants, Mommy???" I was a bit thrown off. I turn over to look at who she is pointing and it's this young woman with super small, black, skin-tight shorts. LOL! When I look over at her, she looks back at me because she clearly heard Sofia say that out loud. haha! So I try to play it off and not laugh. I say in a very serious voice "Oh... well... she's probably not cold. Maybe she's hot..." Sofia has this VERY concerned/disgusted-almost look on her face. She is not taking that for answer. As we pass her I apologize to the young woman in front of us. I say "I'm so sorry..." The young woman just laughed and replied "That's ok..." Joe and I look at each other and as we turn the corner we are all "OMG... Sofia... No you didn't." LOL! Sofia says "But Mom... why wasn't she wearing any pants? They're going to see her [she points to her undies] CHONES!!!" bahahahahaha! OMG. Joe and I just busted out laughing. I know that was wrong of us as parents maybe but we just couldn't help ourselves at the moment. Then she says "You are wearing pants. I'm wearing pants. Why isn't she wearing pants? It's cold..." I stop laughing at this point and try to very calmly and seriously tell her "Yes baby but that lady was not cold. She wanted to wear pants. Just like you wanted to wear pants today. And we don't point at people." She just scrunched up her nose like she didn't like that answer and wasn't satisfied with it but omg'osh! I tell ya! hahaha Kids are so funny. They are blunt and they will call you out in public. My daughter is definitely not the exception. And you know what? Come to think of it, that lady shouldn't be wearing daisy dukes in the Winter! LOL Crazy!
Shes gonna be blunt like us lol
ReplyDeleteLol! typical of Sofia! maybe she should come to my class and teach my female students a thing or two about proper attire in public places. You know she speaks her mind, don't you?
ReplyDeleteYou have to watch these kids!! LOL While we were in Disney World and in line to meet those Chipmunks characters, there was a little person worker that was directing. Peyton pointed to the little person dude and said "Look Mommy, it's a little Daddy." I played it off and said "yeah honey" and tried to direct his attention to something else but he was persistant and said louder "But MOMMY, LOOk at the little Daddy." Needless to say I was a little embarrassed. Sofia is a doll! Love when you post about her.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh too funny!
